Iain has direct access to an international network of top insiders in investment banking and significant real estate owners/agents, at the highest level, who originate exceptional off-market investment opportunities and he brings them to the GCC where he enjoys relations with the most substantial investors – both institutional and private.
Iain's experience in multiple industry sectors crosses continents and cultures led him to investment banking and real estate. Since 1995, upon completing the UK Securities & Futures Authority exams, Iain began learning over many years from leaders in politics, security and business that taught him leadership and risk assessment skills, investment banking, real estate and management consulting in both Western and traditional cultures.
Whilst in London, Iain worked in association with a leading international investment bank and a management consulting firm in London (1995-2004) before accepting a 4-year position (2004-2008) as European Managing Director (based in London) of the Private Investment Office of a senior member of a GCC royal family during which time he reviewed over 1000 investments in every asset class and achieved his most important business success by winning a protracted proxy fight he waged against a high-profile asset management company in London. His efforts resulted in the recovery of GBP£ millions using a business interference strategy due to holding less than 51% equity required to force change in the board and executive management. This experience provided valuable insight into how to maximise assets and create innovative exit strategies in adverse circumstances.
Iain moved to Kuwait in 2008 to join a new investment company as Vice President until 2010, after which he remained in Kuwait and continued as an Independent Adviser in investment banking, real estate, and management consulting to government-controlled enterprises and businesses in Kuwait and he now works across the GCC.
